We work in systems that became hard to change — even though nothing is obviously broken.

Who we are

We're Rafał and Patryk, two backend engineers who work in systems that became difficult to change over time.

We work inside teams that are already under pressure, with the same codebase, the same constraints and the same deadlines.

We approach problems differently, which is usually why it works.

Often the one pushing things forward, while asking the kind of questions that bring clarity along the way.

How we think

We don't believe most problems in software are purely technical.

They usually come from unclear ownership, growing complexity and decisions that made sense at the time but no longer hold.

That's why we don't come in with solutions first.

How we work

We usually join as part of the team, not next to it.

That means working with the same codebase, the same constraints and the same pressure.

We don't rotate people between projects.

And we don't disappear after a few weeks.

We stay long enough to actually see the impact of the changes.

This is not a good fit for every team.

What we work with

Most of our work is backend-heavy.

Typically Java and Kotlin, in systems with multiple services, integrations and dependencies.

We use domain-driven design (DDD) where it helps — not as a methodology, but as a way to understand how the system actually works and where the boundaries are.

In some cases, this approach was one of the reasons teams decided to work with us in the first place.

What working with us actually looked like

Fabio Carneiro

They care about building the product that the business needs. Their domain-oriented approach avoids the usual feeling that you can't take your eyes from the project for a second or everything will go wrong.

Tom Green

The quality of work, execution and delivery within tight deadlines has been exceptional.
